Location

Galeria GALA has been operating since August 2007.
The facility was built on the site of the former Agricultural Machines Factory, which was established by Wacław Moritz in 1900.

Gala shopping mall is located in Lublin, in Bronowice district (commonly known as “Stare Bronowice”), at the intersection of Fabryczna street and Unia Lubelska avenue and also between two rivers: Bystrzyca and Czerniejówka. Additionally, the facility is situated in the immediate vicinity of the city center, including the Old Town (with a view of the Old Town), approx. 1.5 km from the very center.

The streets where the facility is located are an important point in the local public transportation system. About 45% of all public transportation lines in Lublin run through, or nearby, the “Lubelskiego Lipca ’80” roundabout. Furthermore, nearly 400,000 people change lines every month at nearby bus stops.

The roundabout itself is one of the busiest places in the city. It is located close to the bus and train stations, which makes it easier to get to the facility using public transportation. Moreover, accessing Gala by your own vehicle is not a problem. Outside of peak hours, every district of Lublin, from our facility, can be reached by car in less than 20 minutes. What is more, the city is constantly investing and expanding its road network.

It is Worth mentioning that 150 000 people live within 12 minutes drive of the Gala shopping mall, which is 45 % of Lublin’s residents, of which 61% are people aged 0-50.

The changes in the Bystrzyca Valley will cover around 1,000 hectares of land located along the river over a distance of 21 kilometers.

The concept provides for the construction of  50 km of bicycle paths and 50 km of sidewalks by the river. There will also be four new beaches, Jordanowski garden,  four parks, as well as People’s Park going to be rebuilt.  Cleaning the riverbed will allow for kayaking. Moreover, the banks of Bystrzyca River will be connected by 20 footbridges.

The concept also provides for the construction  of eight stops with a sailing roof on the Water Mills Route on Bystrzyca River, as well as a sport center in Rusałka Park.

Planned construction: by 2027

Lublin City Bike (bike rental) has been operating since September 2014.
Only in 2016, the system was used over 855 thousand times. Bicycles were most often borrowed from the station at Nadbystrzycka Street, followed by Zamojska Street (the old bridge) next to Gala.

In 2017, students of KUL started a new initiative, by submitting a letter to the town hall about construction of a new footbridge over Bystrzyca River and a bicycle path leading to it along the Czechówka River (next to the Gala).
The new walking route and bicycle path would lead from Unii Lubelskiej avenue, further along Czechówka River, to a new footbridge on Bystrzyca River, somewhere nearby the Przyjaźni Street. Thanks to the new boulevard, the districts of Bronowice and Tatary would have a good connection with the Old Town, as well as with the Kalinowszczyzna district.

The venue is designed for football matches, but concerts can also be held there.

The construction of the central station in Lublin is planned from 2011. It’s going to serve regional, long-distance, suburban, inter-city, bus and micro bus connections, and will be integrated with Lublin’s public transportation system.
